Merry Christmas to Our Give Away Winner!

I asked my husband to help me come up with an alternative to the off-used phrase “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner” and he came up with the very cute “Winner Winner, Salad Spinner”.  But after all of his mental hard work honing that gem, I decided a “Merry Christmas” would be the better title for this post, considering the theme of the give-away. :)

We are staying in a cottage on Lake Erie this week; the hubs has very kindly taken us on a working vacation (meaning he, God bless him, works while Bird and I get to do most of the vacay-ing.  Yes, I DO have a good man!), so this is my Give Away Winner: Seaside Edition.  So, without further ado, here is the photo showing the winner of the Christmas in July Give-Away, with the pretty lake view in the back:

Yes that’s right that would be Laura from Cleaning House and Baking Cakes!  Yay for you, Laura!  You are an awesome wife, mom, and homemaker and I hope that you will be truly blessed by these Martha Stewart Handmade Christmas books.  And for you ladies who don’t read Laura’s blog, do yourself a favor and check it out.  NO other mom in homemaker blogland makes me laugh like Laura… she keeps me smiling and inspired at the same time!

Thanks to all of you ladies for entering the give-away and all your great ideas… I was truly inspired by them!  And be sure to stay tuned for more give-aways.. I hope to do one a month or so.  It’s fun giving stuff away, eh? :)

Blessings, ladies!

Congrats to Laura. Hope you enjoy your vacay! You asked about where I found the shutter (at Redo 101) - at our local dump (a/k/a landfill) there's a special section where people can put items which are "too good to waste." I go by once a week to see what I might rescue from the landfill, and found this shutter. If you look thru my July posts, you'll see other items I've found there, including a *vintage American Flyer sled*. I could not believe it but someone had put it in the dumpster!!! My son and I worked hard to "fish" it out. Since then I'm told we're not allowed to take things from the dumpster, but okay at Too Good To Waste. Hope you have an area like that :)

Hugs,
Mary
